RPS Assorted Review and Games

In Class:
Each class was a little different today.
  • C Period:
    • team "jeopardy." Two teams design questions based on anything covered this year in science class and ask them of the other team. The opposing team has 1 minute to provide the correct answer.
  • E Period:
    • Special guest presentation of how to calculate changes in thermal energy by Nichole L. (First half of class)
    • Team "jeopardy" game with Mr. Yamashita providing questions during second half of class.
  • G Period:
    • Science term hangman
    • How to build a water rocket at home
No Homework for the vacation.

HPS Science Fair Peer Updates

In Class:
  • Peer updates of science fair projects. Students report to each other about their projects, and the listening teams grade the progress and organization. Rubric supplied by Mr. Yamashita.

RPS/HPS more phase transitions

In Class:
  • After today, most classes are up to speed with presentations of the phase transitions of evaporation, boiling, freezing, and sublimation.
  • B, C and E periods only: students work in teams with white boards to do presentations on condensation and deposition (I have not yet presented the material -- this is work to see how the students are thinking about how phase transition are related to the kinetic theory of matter.)
